RajaSofa's free calculators each answer one question: whether a sofa suits the wall and one doorway, whether the room holds the sofa, a table and a walkway, what seat depth suits one person, and what a sofa costs per use. None of them walks the sofa from the truck to the living room, and that is where sofas get stuck: at the hallway turn, not the door. While writing this kit we checked our own calculators and fixed two. The Sofa Size Calculator said a sofa fits through a door with zero clearance; it now asks for a 5 cm margin. The Cost Per Use Calculator rounded the number of sits before dividing, and called near-ties from rounded pennies. The Sofa Door-to-Room Kit follows the sofa in. It finds the side the sofa really carries on (its height with the legs off is often thinner than its depth), checks every opening with a margin, and works out the longest piece that can turn flat round each hallway corner and stair landing. In the worked example (an example, not a promise), a 220 cm sofa that our free tool refuses at an 81 cm front door clears it on its back with 7 cm to spare, but the hallway turn can only prove a piece of 100 cm: the kit calls that CONFIRM and tells you what to ask the retailer in writing before you pay, against a refused delivery that would cost $378. Then it fits the room with the coffee table in it (275 cm of depth, not 185), finds one seat depth for a household of 155, 170 and 193 cm, and works out the landed cost per sit. It is geometry and arithmetic, not a delivery guarantee: a CLEARS has a margin built in, and a CONFIRM is never turned into a pass. The margin and clearances are rules of thumb.
